Christian Homeschool Social Support Group 

Membership Code of Conduct 

TEACH Texarkana intends to be Christ-centered, doing all things in a manner
which honors Biblical principles and brings glory to God’s name. Because of that, each
student group & members as a whole are expected to abide by the Governing
Documents and this Membership Code of Conduct at each TEACH Texarkana event.


1. Christ-Centered Behavior 
-Members and guests should always strive to represent Christ in
everything by actions, words, and attitudes.
-Behavior should represent kindness, patience, humility, grace, and respect
for others.
-Speech should abstain from profanity, slander, gossip, sexual content,
anti-Christ, and taking the Lord’s name in vain.
 
2. Respect and Courtesy 
-Treat all members with respect by avoiding behavior that disrupts unity
within TEACH Texarkana.
-All members are to respect the TEACH Texarkana Board of Officers,
members, and venue hosts.
-Please bring concerns and/or ideas to the TEACH Texarkana Board of
Officers by speaking to them in person or by emailing them at
[email protected].
-We assume all TEACH members to be of the Christian faith and agree to
the fundamental principles as outlined in the TEACH Doctrinal Statement.
-Those of differing Christian denominations may participate in all activities
provided they do not seek to cause disunity within the organization by
promoting the superiority of one denomination over another. (Bylaws,
Article IV.7)


3. Safety and Liability 
-TEACH Texarkana Board of Officers, event directors, co-op
teachers, and venue hosts are not liable for injuries or damage that may
occur during any activity. 
-Parents/guardians are responsible for the behavior and actions of their
children and any guests at all TEACH Texarkana events. At non-drop-off
events, they are responsible for supervising their children and any guests.
-Violent and reckless behavior, bullying, and harassment are not permitted.
-Possession of alcohol, tobacco, vaping products or controlled substances
are not permitted at any TEACH Texarkana events. 
-No brandishing of weapons is permitted at any TEACH Texarkana events
without the TEACH Texarkana Board approval. Knives are to be kept in

pockets or purses. No straight or switchblades will be allowed. Details are
in the TEACH Activity Guidelines.
-The disciplinary process is outlined in the TEACH Texarkana Standing
Rules governing document.


4. Conflict Resolution 
-Conflict between TEACH Texarkana members should be addressed in a
respectful and Christ-like manner between the two disagreeing parties, in
accordance with Matthew 18:15-17 (#11 of the TEACH Texarkana
Standing Rules).
-If the conflict is of a sensitive nature and the member wishes to address a
Board of Officer confidentially, the Board of Officer will follow the process
outlined in the TEACH Texarkana Standing Rules.
-Offenses to the TEACH Texarkana Rules as outlined in this document and
the Governing Documents will be handled by the Board of Officers using
the Disciplinary Due Process detailed in #13 of the TEACH Texarkana
Standing Rules.
 
5. Compliance with Bylaws and Governing Documents 
-Members and their guests agree to follow the TEACH Texarkana Bylaws
and Governing Documents. 
-Persistent disregard of the Bylaws, Governing Documents and
Membership Code of Conduct may result in removal from TEACH
Texarkana 

 
6. Additional Age-Specific Expectations 
-Kids Events (up to age 12)
-Respect
-Encourage
-Always use good manners
-Clean up after ourselves
-Have FUN!

-Bridge Events (ages 11-13) 

-Keep conversations aligned with Eph 4:29 – Positive words, focused
on friendships
-Leave cell phones with parents or in a basket at check-in where it will
be accessible when needed in the presence of a leader

Teen Events (ages 13-19)


-Be respectful to adults and willing to receive guidance
-Show the Fruits of the Spirit when interacting with others
-Use encouraging words; never foul or abusive
? No rough horseplay or threatening body language
-No PDA, including handholding and prolonged hugging
-Participate and have fun

Affirmation of Code 

All members must acknowledge and agree to abide by the TEACH Texarkana
Membership Code of Conduct to attend any affiliated event.

 

I have read and understand the TEACH Texarkana Membership Code of Conduct, and I
accept the consequences if I do not follow it. I will also ensure any guests I bring to an
approved TEACH event know about this Code of Conduct so they also conduct
themselves in a Christ-like manner.
NOTE: For children 10 and under, a parent’s signature will suffice, provided the
applicable rules have been read and explained to the child.
